Finnish tea from a Finnish family The Finnish Nordqvist tea house has been conducting business for four decades now. The company started out as a retail shop in 1979, when a shop specialising in flavoured tea blends and selling loose tea was still a novelty in Finland. The tea shops in the centre of Helsinki offered consumers a broad selection of flavoured and unflavoured teas, imported by the company. The new shop concept and tea varieties were received with enthusiasm by consumers. Word soon spread, and retailers around Finland turned to Nordqvist for their tea purchases. This was the beginning of the Nordqvist tea import and wholesale business. Today, our Finnish family business and tea factory is located in Ilvesvuori, Nurmijärvi. About 30 people are employed in the import, sales and processing of our teas. Nordqvist sells tea in Finland, United Kingdom and the Baltic countries. Our tea is also available on more distant markets, such as Japan. Our primary goals have remained unchanged since the founding of the business: selling high-quality, delicious and responsible tea. We at Nordqvist remain committed to these goals. Drinking tea must be a pleasure. At Nordqvist, we pay particular attention to the safety of tea. Our company holds the FSSC 22000 food safety certificate. We invest heavily in the quality of our tea and its packaging, as well as in our production processes. We monitor product safety on a daily basis and seek to achieve constant improvement. We observe the principle of constant improvement with regard to product quality and safety.
