At the end of November, the RealMexican family had the honor of participating in the IX World Forum of Mexican Gastronomy, an event that brings together the leading representatives of culinary traditions. There, we reflected on a crucial question: the democratization of food, meaning how we can ensure that good and healthy food is a right accessible to everyone.
Mexican cuisine, recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, embodies this vision. Its richness and diversity demonstrate how a culinary culture can be healthy, economical, sustainable, and infinitely flavorful at the same time.
During the event, we highlighted how ancient ingredients like corn, chili, and beans not only provide nourishment but also tell stories and create bonds between generations. Traditional cooks such as Juanita Bravo, Victoria González, Blanca Villagómez, Yunuén Velázquez, and Sergio Olivo shared their knowledge and passion, reminding us that food is a bridge between cultures and a driving force for social change.
The democratization of food is not a dream; it is a responsibility. And Mexican cuisine has the power to inspire the world to achieve this.
