FFC Competition Rules 2025

  1. Competition Organizers
    The organizer of the competition is Easyfairs Nordic AB
    The partners are Metos, Kespro, Haugen-Gruppen Oy, Danish Crown.
     
  2. Participation in the competition
    The competition is open to all individuals over the age of 18 who prepare food professionally, as well as students in the field, chefs, and head chefs. The selection jury will choose the finalists based on anonymously submitted recipes and photos. Nine competitors will be selected for the final.

 

  1. Competition period
    Applications for the competition can be submitted between December 2, 2024, and January 27, 2025. The application deadline is January 27, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that the application is submitted on time.

 

  1. Qualification for the competition and Live Final
    Qualificatio:
    To apply for the competition, submit your own freely chosen sandwich recipe along with a photo, the dish must include a side dish. The recipe and photo for the preliminary competition must be submitted by January 27, 2025, no later than 11:59 PM to ffcr@easyfairs.com. The selection jury will choose the finalists anonymously based on the recipes and photos. Competitors will be notified personally by February 10, 2025, if they have been selected for the competition, after which the competitors will be publicly announced. 

 

The final will take place on March 19-20, 2025, at the Helsinki Fair Centre (Messukeskus). The final consists of two competition days. On March 19, all competitors will prepare the dish they used to enter the competition during the preliminary round. 

On March 20, each competitor will prepare one sandwich and two side dishes, with at least one of the sides being warm. The dishes must be prepared using ingredients predetermined by the jury and sponsors, competitors will be informed of the ingredients on the competition day.

In each live competition phase, the competitor will prepare five (5) servings. 

 

  1. Ingredients used in the competition
    The ingredients used in the competition must be from the partners’ product selection.

5.1. Equipment used in the competition:
Each semifinalist will receive a list of the competition equipment in advance for review. 

 

  1. Jury
    The competition jury consists of industry professionals and representatives from the competition’s partners. The head judge participates in the scoring and, in the case of a tie, makes the final decision if the jury cannot reach an agreement.

  1. Liability the Organizers and Partners for damages
    The organizers are not responsible for any damages resulting from participation in the competition, prize redemption, or the use of the prize. The organizers’ liability to the prize winner will never exceed the value of the prize. The prize winner releases the organizer and the competition’s partners from all liability related to injury or damage caused by the redemption or use of the prize.
  2. Taxes and Other Costs
    The competition organizer is not responsible for any travel or accommodation costs incurred by the competitor. The competition winners are responsible for any taxes to possibly be caused by the competition prize.
     
  3. Processing of Personal Data and Right to Publish
    Participants’ personal data will be processed in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act. By participating in the competition, each participant grants the organizers and partner companies the right to use their name, image, statement, as well as recipes and photos, in communications and publicity related to the competition across various media without the need for separate consent or additional compensation.
     
  4. Winner’s Obligations
    The competition organizer and partners have the right to interview the winner and publish the interview, the winner’s photo, and the winner’s recipes on their own media channels. The winner agrees to give an interview to the industry press after the final.
     
  5. Changes to the Rules
    The organizer reserves the right to modify these rules.
