Biraghi S.p.A was founded deep in the heartland of Piedmont, in 1934 by Ferrucio Biraghi. Up to 1998 Biraghi S.p.A. produced Grana Padano under the Gran Biraghi brand. At that date Biraghi S.p.A decided to breakaway from the Consortium of Grana Padano to devote its efforts in promoting its own brand Gran Biraghi, whilst still maintaining the same production methods. Gran Biraghi is free from preservatives. It does not contain lyzozime as found in Grana Padano. Gran Biraghi can be eaten by those who are allergic to eggs. Biraghi produces also Gorgonzola D.O.P, Ricotta and other dairy products.
Even though the workforce numbers in excess of 250 employees, it still maintains much of a family business trait. Modern dairy processing methods, up to the minute technical aids, ongoing development coupled with sound financial investments makes Biraghi S.p.A. an ideal supplier.
