The panel discussion will examine the role of the public food sector in strengthening security of supply and preparing for exceptional and crisis situations. The discussion will address, among other things, the sustainability of supply chains, procurement preparedness, and practical solutions to secure public food services in all circumstances.<\/p>\n

As an introduction to the panel, Emergency Preparedness Manager Virpi Kulomaa will present the recent results of a monitoring study on security of supply and preparedness conducted by the Food Service Pool and Kokonat Oy.<\/p>\n

The Food Service Pool of the Finnish Food Security Organization is developing preparedness and security of supply in the sector. In the initial phase of the pool’s operations in 2024, the initial situation of preparedness among the sector’s operators was investigated through a survey. The follow-up study carried out last autumn examines the development and situation of the sector’s preparedness, including through the preparedness measures taken. The study is based on an online survey, the target group of which were catering services in welfare areas and a sample of food services in cities and municipalities and the providers of these services. A total of 107 operators responded to the survey, and the response rate to the survey is 71%.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Many restaurants find it challenging to serve customers who follow a gluten-free diet well and safely, because not all customers follow the diet in the same way. On the other hand, many people who follow a gluten-free diet skip meals outside the home because they are afraid of getting the wrong dish.<\/p>\n
